The ball works but it's not made for certain dogs who really like to chew toys. my dog is one of those dogs. she is a female 1-year-old French bulldog and she right away wanted to take it apart and she did. she found a way to take it apart and take it apart each time she did so she even found a way to bite it to turn it off. so for Fringe bulldogs and dogs who really like to chew toys, I do not recommend this toy for them
